Kıvanç Tekstil, a company renowned both in domestic and international markets for its high-quality fabrics, has achieved a first in its region by establishing a Design Center approved by the Ministry of Science, Industry, and Technology. In July, the company—one of Turkey’s leading textile manufacturers—founded its Design Center and subsequently received official approval from the Ministry. Operating in Adana, one of the traditional textile hubs of Turkey, Kıvanç Tekstil now proudly holds the title of owning the city’s first-ever Design Center.
Integrating all processes from yarn production to dyeing and finishing applications, Kıvanç Tekstil boasts over half a century of experience in the sector. Founded in the early 1950s by Hacı Mustafa Kıvanç, the company today operates on a total area of 267,000 m², of which 105,000 m² is indoors, producing 18 million meters of high-quality fabric annually. With its strong export performance, Kıvanç Tekstil ranks among the industry leaders, supplying fabrics to leading global fashion brands in Europe and the United States.
Strengthening Our Brand Image and Increasing Our Value
Speaking about the newly approved Design Center, Zeki Kıvanç, Vice Chairman of the Board at Kıvanç Tekstil, emphasized the company’s goal of creating added value for the industry:
“At Kıvanç Tekstil, we are aware that achieving lasting and sustainable success in exports is only possible through competitive, high value-added production. That is why we established our Design Center in July 2017 and obtained approval from the Ministry of Science, Industry, and Technology. As the first and only Design Center in our region, it will contribute to our aim of producing more sustainable, environmentally friendly, globally competitive textile products that are difficult or impossible to imitate—not only for Adana but for all of Turkey.”
Highlighting that the Design Center aims to strengthen university–industry cooperation and achieve significant gains, Mr. Kıvanç added:
“Through this center, we will meet the R&D and training needs required for sustainable and competitive production. We will encourage our team of experts to develop new projects, and by prioritizing customer satisfaction and quality-focused service, we will produce unique, original designs on a project basis to meet the needs of different customer groups. As a result of our work here, we aim to develop high value-added products, increase our unit product price by 10–25%, and further strengthen our brand image.”
Kıvanç Tekstil’s Extensive Product Portfolio
Highlighting Kıvanç Tekstil’s rich product range, Zeki Kıvanç emphasized that the company offers high-quality fabric collections produced from blends of the most preferred and widely used fibers in the industry, including cotton, viscose, polyester, linen, modal, and Tencel. Pointing out the company’s annual capacity of 18 million meters of fabric, Mr. Kıvanç noted that they produce premium fabric collections—ranging from fiber dyeing to piece dyeing and digital printing—while staying aligned with global trends and fashion movements.
Speaking on R&D and product development (P&D) efforts, Mr. Kıvanç shared that they continuously develop new fiber compositions and fabric patterns. He added:
“As part of our product development project, we launched KIVANÇ PLUS in 2014 after three years of development. This new product group modernizes wool-based fabrics. In recent years, as consumers have increasingly preferred products made from natural fibers, wool—combining quality and naturalness—has found new life in the KIVANÇ PLUS collection.”
Since 2017, Kıvanç Tekstil has been included in the Turquality program and has successfully completed two TÜBİTAK-led, EUREKA-supported projects—TICOTEX and FOTOCAT. Supported by various countries and institutions, these projects involved producing and introducing eco-friendly nanotechnology fabrics to the market by binding plant-based oils to the fabric surface.
